Ab Rude’s newest endeavors find him developing his own Keep The Feel Ent. imprint (via Alphapup records), with a roster of talent that is spearheaded by his own new solo lp, Keep The Feel: a legacy of hip-hop soul (to be releasedApril 14th, 2015). On Ab’s newest lp,
Abstract Rude is still very relevant in the world of independent hip-hop. A veteran of the Los Angeles Underground scene he has been signed to a major & released several albums over his extensive career on various indie labels. Capitol (via Beastie boys’ Grand Royal), Battleaxe, Project Blowed Recordings/Decon & Rhymesayers per the above mentioned labels.
A three year run on Battleaxe produced three classic albums in Canadian hip-hop history: Codename Scorpion (2000)P.a.i.n.t (2001), Showtyme! (2003) with Swollen Members, Moka Only & production by Rob The Viking. In 2005, Ab Rude met DJ Rippel while touring Canada on MainEvent Tours & the two instantly clicked forging a friendship that led to several nationwide runs together. Rippel’s free spirit & love for creative music is the perfect balance for Abstract’s soulful Rudeness.
Post Battleaxe, a five year stint with Rhymesayers produced Abstract Rude’s last official solo lp, Rejuvenation (2009) and a collab ep, The Awful Truth (2013) with RSE co-founder Musab. Different Mixtapes & features have also bridged the career gap til now in 2015.
