Mystic Drumz was started in Toronto, Canada almost 20 year ago by Lorne Lampert B.F.A, B.Ed, C.D.O. (Chief Drumming Officer). Their shows are now performed in three languages and across three countries, with over 10 performers in Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico. Now over 6000 performances under their belt, Mystic Drumz has developed a refined and unique approach to music education and entertainment.
Winner of the Parents Choice award for the Mystic Drumz interactive dance CD “Zoudlebee Zoup” 2010, Mystic Drumz continues to innovate with the “Family Fun Series” of shows. Featuring their flagship show “The Legend of Marshmallow Island”, the second show “The Button People” and new this fall “The Road to JelloTown”.
Mystic Drumz shows are “World Music Safari Adventures”, blending multicultural music themes and interactive audience participation! New to Mystic Drumz is “Music Eco-cation” that teaches children about the importance of the preservation of animals and the environment they live in through music shows.
Mystic Drumz created a program called “Drumming a Difference” bringing music and percussion instruments to orphanages and schools in developing countries. They’ve also worked with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and SickKids Foundation raising money and awareness with amazing success.
Founder, creative director and principal performer Lorne Lampert has studied under many well-known percussionists over the past twenty years including S. Indian Guru Trichy Sankaran, African Master drummer Abraham Adzenyah and Nii Tetteh, Middle Eastern Specialist Glen Velez, and well-known Latin stars like Giovanni Hidalgo and Sal Ferrera.
Lorne’s academic accomplishments include his Bachelors of Fine Arts World Music Performance with Honors from York University. As well in earning his Bachelors of Education Music that gave him the deeper understands of children and music.
