Stonejoy is a seven piece instrumental funk-fusion band based in Edmonton, Alberta. Formed by trombonist and keyboardist Peter Filice in late 2024; many of the members have been playing together since their highschool days. With a hefty load of groove-driven originals complemented with classic instrumental funk covers, the band’s sound draws inspiration from the musical stylings of the JB’s, Parliament Funkadelic, Trombone Shorty, Dumpstaphunk, and many more. Fronted by a driving horn section and backed by a tight, bass-heavy rhythm section, the band’s sound is sure to keep audiences movin’ and groovin’ all night long!
